Alpha Kappa Psi
“Alpha Kappa Psi is recognized as the premier developer of principled business leaders”
Alpha Kappa Psi is the oldest and most well-known business fraternity in the country. It was founded in 1904 by four students at New York University. They wanted to create a group of brothers who shared in ideals of business education and development. There are 223 chapters worldwide with over 14,400 members.
Alpha Kappa Psi is a co-ed, professional fraternity which aims to give its members advantages in the classroom and in the boardroom. Today’s employers place great emphasis on skills such as teamwork, organization, interpersonal and public speaking skills. Chapter activities allow our members to sharpen skills which lead to success in the business world. Employers want students with proven leadership experience. Alpha Kappa Psi provides the opportunity to prove yourself as a leader.

The Kappa chapter at the University of Oregon helps its 88 members get to know their fellow classmates in the Lundquist College of Business. Our chapter represents a small cohort of the over 4,600 undergraduates in the College of Business who want to develop their professional skills outside of the classroom. It is not a requirement, however, to be a business major to become a member of our chapter. In fact, more than one-third of our membership are not Business/Accounting majors. Many other majors consist of Economics, Public Relations, Political Science, Psychology, and Journalism. No matter their background or area of study, the members of our chapter get to take advantage of many professional activities including guest speakers, mock interviews, site tours, and many other valuable activities which can perpetuate their long-term goals.
Alpha Kappa Psi will introduce its members to many new friends who all share in similar ideals of personal and professional growth. Most members agree that the single greatest advantage of the membership is the brotherhood and friendships which arise from being a member. The friendships we form in college are the ones which last a lifetime. We are not just another business club; our fraternity prides itself on our unity as a brotherhood.
Our chapter offers a unique opportunity to build your professional career and social skills, while making friendships that will last a lifetime. To learn more about our fraternity, we invite you to join us at our many RUSH events that occur during Fall and Spring.
